Writer’s Crock

Spacingsm.jpg

Writing has never been my strong point, but then again…..neither has determining what my strong points are.

It’s not that I’m completely oblivious to the odd drabs of people who’ve told me I should consider writing as a career, it’s just that I’ve never considered myself to be that good.

Irony rears its metallic head when we realise that I decided to make the core focus of the next one-shot manga writing itself. Not that art won’t play a key role, but I’ve decided this one will finally have a story that isn’t just several jokes strung together…..and doing that has turned out to be far trickier than I ever imagined. (It’s not even a comedy by nature though it *might* be by effect)

I’ve easily rewritten every single part of the story about 3-4 times so far, finally settling it’s progression bit by slow oozing bit.  Those of you looking for a solid piece of information about it’s completion will be fabulously….disappointed.

I can’t attach a raw number to the current progress but I can clearly say that MOST of the writing is done so far, HOWEVARRRR as any who’ve dared to venture into the land of mangaliciousness may know, writing is only the first (but crucial) step. Next comes the grandly unrestricted land of concept art followed by storyboarding, final sketching and (albeit virtual) inking.

In other spurts from my newsical nostril, it appears I lucked out once again and managed to get both my MCITP:EST and MCTS qualifications in one go. Now I venture ever so deeper into the land of geeketry as I begin my challenge against the mighty “Network+”!

Revival of the Twittest

Spacingsm.jpg

As a few of you undoubtedly noticed, the site has mysteriously been down for a few weeks. Not down in the sense of it being lower than most other objects near it, but more down in the sense that nothing bloody well worked.

I came up with some good theories to explain the downtime but most of those involved obsessively large quantities of mayonnaise and thus ended up looking a little silly when I analyzed them further.

While I am still insisting mayonnaise played some role (no matter how small or subtle!) in the site’s temporary demise, I will admit that my hosting being cheaper than Denise Richards is one very likely explanation.

Not that I don’t appreciate them, without my hosting you brave souls that visit me regularly wouldn’t have somewhere to be disappointed about a consistent lack of updates, it’s just that the ignoring of my support emails for a few weeks in a row can make someone a little less trusting of their ability to get the job done in the long run.

I haven’t spent the past few weeks merely twiddling my thumbs though (I usually twiddle a far naughtier bit anyway…like the pinky), I’ve started up work on my second Doujinshi/Amateur Manga.

Of course I can’t predict just when you all can expect to read this fine morsel of crappery as I’ve already spent 3 (on and off) months on the writing alone. I will however try and break a bit of tradition this time around and post the occasional snippet of progress in order to keep this place under the grand illusion of being somewhat active.
